Hi all. I’m getting in to woodworking with sustainable coppicing on a lot of trees on our property. One thing I need to do frequently is sharpen tools. But virtually all sharpening oils and pasted that I’ve come across either use animal products or are petroleum based, or both! I’m really hoping someone can point me towards a good sharpening paste. I’m happy to make my own from scratch, but I can’t find a recipe online anywhere. Any artisans out there who make their own paste?
Hi and welcome to the VegTalk Forums.
I don’t know much about sharpening oils but aren’t petroleum based products vegan?
Thanks for this interesting information. Very useful for me.
