How is it that some
Couldn’t care what is done
To the beings they can’t hear or see?
And how is it that I
No matter how I try
Keep ‘feeling’ the constant cruelty?
How come there are those
Who quite clearly choose
To ignore all those poor souls in need?
But when it comes back to me
Though I’ve tried not to see
They affect all my words, thoughts and deeds
Do some people not care
Even when they’re aware
Of the suffering they cause all the time
I can’t turn off the pain
And I WILL take the blame
I accept the responsibility’s mine
When will people realize
The wonderful compromise
They can ‘enjoy’, and still cause no harm
When we respect all things living
Stop taking, start giving
When we all sing the same peaceful song.
