Yep, really. The European Commission is pushing a proposal to stop plant-based brands from using 29 meat-related words like beef, bacon, ribs… and Parliament might go further to include “burger” and “sausage.”
Their reasoning? “Consumer transparency” and “protecting the cultural significance of meat.” 
Reality check: surveys show 80% of people aren’t confused by “veggie burger” or “vegan sausage.”
What this would do:

Slow down climate-friendly food innovation -
Add more EU bureaucracy and red tape
This was already rejected back in 2020… so why is it back? Lobby pressure?
