Bible and Veganism

I am more or less a vegan, don’t really eat any animal products I don’t rule them out completely, but I eat, mainly beans fruits and vegetables. The Messiah eat fish and drank wine, he was certainly not a Vegan. but there is a certain amount of respect that should be afforded to animals, this can be seen in the procedures that were administered when killing an animal. Today with capitalism and over eating animals unfortunately are not getting the respect that God, intended them to have, whether for eating purposes or not.

You can take a look at the dietary laws, that most people ignore or think are invalid, in LEVITICUS CHAPTER 11. As long as you eat the animals that God intended he’s happy with that, he created the earth so he would know how to keep things running smoothly. For instance the eating of scavengers such as crabs, lobsters and Pigs, were seen as unclean meat that the Israelite’s were not to eat.

Daniel 1:11-16
Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over him: “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. So the guard took away their meat and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.
