250,000 a year turn vegetarian in UK
THERE are more than 4 million vegetarians in Britain, with 250,000 joining them every year, the Vegetarian Society says. Alex Bourke, founder of the Vegetarian Guides, told the Vegetarian Society awards in London that in addition large numbers of Britons did not eat meat at least two days a week. British meat-eaters consumed a third less than the French and only half as much as Americans.

This is good news, as I was hoping to travel to London next year. My bias tells me that I won’t have much to eat there other than bar food - fish and chips - you know, the stereotypical British diet such as bangers and mashers.
